Touch

‘Touch' presents the work of a group of artists whose work reflects varied approaches to the ideas of 'touch.'

The artists in this exhibition represent a wide array of styles and impulses, experiences and approaches to making.

The concept of 'Touch' is quite simple yet layered in its meaning and scope. For most artistic venues, the idea of touching the work physically is limited or unheard of. Can you authentically connect with art and artists or do they connect with you and your life in some way, shape or form? This show invites us all to consider this idea of touch from multiple viewpoints, perspectives, definitions and more. Touch implies access, it brings up (or should) thoughts of consent and might insinuate ideas of intimacy or the inherently personal, perhaps it inspires all 5 senses and how this moment might be a more holistic or even immersive art experience. It also could simply be that you, the viewer, hopefully, is able to participate with the art, artists and curator of this show in some small or some beautifully large way, walking away finding that some part of yourself was 'touched' by a part of this work and that most likely you left your mark in the process as well.

This exhibit is part of a series of week-long exhibits in the same space throughout the summer called Art Pawn, New & Used art.

The exhibition includes works by Coco Klockner, Jeshredue 1, Russ Rubin, Zoe Schwartz, Swoon, Sizhu Li, Gwendolyn Skaggs, Jacqueline Skaggs, Anne Pollard James, Lee Seinfeld, Lauren Reid, Uzuroaki, Lucy Kay Plowe, Amelia Frank, Hanna Lefcourt, Amani Heywood, MKODJ, Whitney Ann, Darren Jones, Leigh Brooklyn, Phil Young, Eliza Karim, Nicole Segara, Clancy Sheridan, Eden Meyers and Gregg Emery.
